About me

Greetings! I’m Mildred and my friends call my Mildry. I live in Castleberry, Alabama. I come from a small family in a small town. Our town is the “Strawberry Capital of Alabama”. Many tourists come here and visit our Castleberry Festival. My kids just love this time of the year as they are able to eat and be merry!
I graduated from the University of Alabama and majored in Accounting. After college, I worked as a financial clerk at Herman’s World of Sporting Goods. As a financial clerk, I basically keep track of the finances of my company. I record all vital cash transactions, revenues and expenses. I usually contact suppliers and wholesalers regarding billings and overdue accounts.  In addition to these, if supplies and stocks are low, I keep track of it and re-order if needed. It sounds multitasking, but I am getting used to this job, although it has its ups and downs. I cannot complain because it has been paying the bills and I get a lot of benefits. It is also a 9 to 5 job so I get to spend more quality time with my husband and kids.
One of the benefits is the big discount I get for being an employee. This is the “Employee Privilege” in our store that allows us 20 to 50 percent off on major items. I usually shop for biking accessories because we all bike once in a while. The boys are fanatics so they enjoy these discounts. I encourage them to shop and put it on my tab, but of course I deduct it from their allowances. That’s what I teach them always, to be thrift and spend wisely.

My Family

I am married with 2 kids, all boys. We love to go kayaking and watch car races. I love my boys and they are my inspiration to strive harder in my field of work. My husband also works as a clerk in another store and he is also a car mechanic, so he sometimes repairs the cars of our friends, neighbors and walk-in clients.
My husband dreams to own a Ferrari someday. Oh well, maybe he can assemble one while we are still dreaming. I am blessed that my husband supports me not only emotionally but most importantly financially. Because he accepts car repairs, we are able to enjoy the finer things in life. Maybe in the near future, we can put up our own car repair shop so he can earn more.

Fun time

We love biking and we make it a habit to bike every Sundays and on holidays when the kids have no school. We go to Oak Mountain State Park and bring our mountain bikes. The boys love to race. Maybe they will train next summer and go for competitions. We always make it a point to support our children with whatever endeavor they want to participate in. Be it academically or in sports.
My husband and I have “date nights” whenever we can. We go to drive thru movies and have pizza and fries on weekends, sometimes without the kids. We value this time because it is what keeps the love going. We have made this a regular ritual so that our marriage will last a lifetime.
